Hello all,

Wednesday 9th November 2011

Well, I’ve just about recovered from a hectic night out in Leeds last Friday. It is a brilliant night out-the people are so friendly and, for the most part, the music is slightly better than many of the clubs around the Village. I got back to the hotel just in time for breakfast!!

This week was a normal club night and started fairly quietly, although we had plenty of new and old visitors throughout the evening.

Skye was back with us looking delightful after a long break, mostly through financial constraints. She told me that she had started hormone treatment about a month ago and so far the transition was going well, although she was not full time yet.

I also took this picture of her with the friend she arrived with. Unfortunately, her name escapes me (senior moment!!)-I can only apologise.

It was lovely to meet Cas and Lucy. It was the first time they had been to Manchester and only the second time out ever for Lucy. They told me of their plans for the next few days. They are to be in the audience of the Graham Norton Show in London, then are to travel to Milton Keynes for a night out at Pink Punters (a venue I can highly recommend, especially the famous BNO), before retuning back home to East Anglia by weekend-quite a busy schedule. Welcome, and hope you come back to visit us again at some time in the future.

I could not resist taking a photo of Susie in this dramatic leopard print dress.

Margaret and Joan were engrossed in conversation when I interrupted to take this relaxed photo of them. Once again Joan had brought our friend Kate in her car. Kate may be suffering with her illness, but she shows a fighting spirit that can inspire us all.

Danni arrived mid evening. She said she got ready to come last week, but twice messed up her makeup and in the end decided to stay home. You obviously got it right this week-good to see you, and your unique sense of humour, again.

I would like to mention Tina and Milli , shown here with Pauline. They are regulars at the club, and Tina is a fellow committee member. They both sit on the door happily every week meeting regulars and new girls alike, helping to make everyone feel welcome. I’d just like to thank them on behalf of all of us at the Concord for the help they give freely.

Next week will once again be a normal club evening, so hope to see you then. And don’t forget about the club Christmas meal on Saturday 3rd December at Villagios-the food there is excellent (although sometimes the speed of service can be a little haphazard!!) and it is so well located in the middle of Canal St. At £22 a head, it’s a snip for a 3 course meal, and a great excuse to dress up for a night out. Finally, don’t forget the Christmas buffet on Wednesday 18th December. If last year was anything to go by, it’ll be super-and only the normal entrance fee will apply.
