Buffet City is at 111 Portland Street, which is a few yards outside of the village if you want to haggle.

To begin with I went to my usual Chinese, the New Beijing, but they told me they had stopped doing their bargain buffet except at weekends.

Initially this was a disappointment, but then I remembered there was another bargain buffet Chinese just past the Princess street traffic lights, & on the other side of the road.

Buffet City is a more extensive operation, has a larger selection of higher quality food, & is slightly cheaper at £6.50 for an all you can eat before 6pm.

Nearly forgot to mention, I was not en femme this time (must try harder). I should mention that I am not in the photo.

I started with a plateful of noodles, king prawns, & beef. Then I followed this with a plateful of the same noodles, sweet & sour chicken, & whole mushrooms.

Because the drinks are dear I had two bowls of soup to wash it down.

Then I had some fruit jelly topped with peach slices, finishing with a large melon slice & a quarter orange.

My personal waiter was prompt in removing used dishes/cutlery.

All in all a welcoming friendly place with good fare.

Genevieve Xx
